IINE President Participates in Refugee Resettlement Panel

In mid-June, IINE President and CEO Jeff Thielman joined Mary Truong, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants and Marjean Perhot, Director of Refugee and Immigrant Services for Catholic Charities of Boston for a panel hosted by WorldBoston with support from the WGBH Forum Network.

The panel, Refugee Resettlement: The Massachusetts End of the Pipeline, looked at the process of resettlement and what happens to refugees once they were assigned to Massachusetts and what that means for the agencies who serve them such as IINE and Catholic Charities of Boston.

Refugees add tremendous value to our local communities. These individuals have overcome a great deal to get here and they want to be involved; they want to contribute. Our organizations work to make this possible by providing the support new Americans need to participate in the social, economic and political richness of American life.
