The International Institute of New England, a nongovernmental, not-for-profit, New England-based organization dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, is seeking a Financial Reporting and Budget Analyst for its Boston office.

Note: Certain position requires great flexibility and willingness to travel. A valid driver’s license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation may be required.
Position:         Financial Reporting and Budget Analyst
Status:         Full Time
Reports to:        Chief Financial Officer
Primary Office:     Boston, MA

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly general ledger close and monthly internal and external reporting including posting of monthly journal entries and reconciling all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements:  P&L, Revenue Schedule, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
  • Budget vs. actual analysis
  • Manage temporarily restricted assets and deferred revenue balances
  • Lead on the annual budgeting process
  • Monitor and update projection spreadsheets
  • All other duties assigned by the CFO


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in general ledger management and analysis, solid understanding of financial statements and budgeting for multiple programs
  • 2 years’ experience in the non-profit sector working with federal contracts
  • Experience in both the public and private sectors preferred
  • Aptitude for learning concepts and procedures quickly
  • The ability to work collaboratively across functions
  • Handle a fast-paced environment and requires a team-first mentality
  • Proficiency with Abila MIP accounting software preferred
  • Strong to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good work ethic, job ownership and maturity

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
