As part of welcoming newcomers to the Boston area, we provide clients with the furniture and home goods in their new residences. Volunteers are often needed to help transport items to clients’ apartments and set up their new living spaces. Apartment set-ups are one-time commitments, but volunteers are encouraged to join us again for future opportunities! This is one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences. These are on an as-needed basis and will be listed on SignUp.com.
IINE’s Boston office is urgently seeking volunteers to support our Basic Services team and our Haitian clients. Volunteer tasks can include:
- Helping our Front Desk team distribute Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) checks.
- Working with our Basic Services team to return expired checks to ORI.
- Managing the RCA inbox and updating our trackers.
- Verifying client information for paperwork, especially physical addresses.
- Organizing paperwork from our Cuban-Haitian Entrant intake clinics.
