On August 14, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck near southern Haiti. The loss of life and injuries have been large, amplifying the already growing economic and political devastation in the country.
Many of our colleagues and clients have family and friends who have been directly impacted. The International Institute of New England (IINE) stands with them, and with all the people of Haiti. We urge the Biden Administration to stop deportations to Haiti immediately and to expand TPS eligibility to include Haitians who entered the United States after August 3, 2021.
