Job Skills Training in Boston

Job training classes are now taking place ONLINE! Learn from home, and prepare for your new career.

IINE offers an intensive job-training program that provides excellent opportunities for newcomers to the United States who have medium proficiency in English and a minimum of six months of work experience in the United States. Over the past two decades, our training programs have placed hundreds of program participants in well-paying jobs at employment partners such as The Charles Hotel, Encore Boston Waterfront, Hilton Boston Back Bay, InterContinental Boston, The Westin Boston Waterfront, Four Seasons, Boston Medical Center, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and others. Many of our program graduates have made careers in area industries, moving up to higher positions with greater responsibility and better pay.

About our classes

Ready, Set, Service! Training Program

Our Ready, Set, Service! Training Program prepares students for customer service jobs in many different industries, such as hotels, restaurants, and hospitals. In this 6-week course, students will learn about goal setting, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, workplace communication and conflict resolution, networking, and US work culture and expectations. Training will focus on specific jobs based on students’ interests.

  • Class will meet three hours per day (9:00 am – 12:00 noon), five days per week (Monday – Friday)
  • First 4 weeks are online via Zoom, last 2 weeks are in person at the IINE Boston office
  • After completion of the course, you will meet once a week for 1 hour with IINE staff for job search and preparation assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Must have had at least one job in the US for at least 6 months
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to pass English tests (Intermediate level or higher)
  • Committed to finding a full-time job in the US
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • A functioning laptop and internet connection is required

Hospitality Training Program (HTP)

Our HTP Program (9 weeks) prepares students for jobs in the hospitality industry and focuses on equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to launch careers in the hotel industry.  The nine-week curriculum is composed of five modules: Industry-Specific Skills Training, English for the Hospitality, Customer Service, Work Readiness, and Computer Literacy delivered in a four-week intensive class.  In the program’s final two weeks, participants job- shadow employees at one of our partner hotels, gaining hands-on skills and industry practice. Upon completion, staff work with each participant to land a first job in an area hotel.

Healthcare & Hospitality Training Program (HHTP)

This 9-week program includes multiple modules: Industry-Specific Skills Training, English for the Healthcare Industry, English for the Hospitality (Hotel) Industry, Customer Service, Work Readiness, and Computer Literacy. This program provides students with key skills needed to succeed in customer service, entry-level jobs in hotels and hospitals such as: Food Service, Patient Services, and Environmental Services (Housekeeping). Students can explore different career pathways and leave the course with real-life skills that appeal to service-based employers.  In the program’s final two weeks, participants job- shadow employees at one of our partner hotels, and engage with professionals who work in the healthcare industry. Upon completion, staff work with each participant to land a first job in an area hotel or hospital. Students must have U.S. work experience and U.S. Work Authorization in order to apply.

IINE students come from 60 countries, and most of them live in and around Boston: Allston, Brighton, Charlestown, Chinatown, Dorchester, Downtown, East Boston, Fenway, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Mission Hill, the North End, Roslindale, Roxbury, South Boston, South End, West End, and West Roxbury, as well as Malden, Quincy, Everett, Revere, and Chelsea. Some students travel to class from as far away as Brockton!

Most IINE students go on to careers in their chosen field, and many advance to management positions before long.
