Give Through Donor Advised Funds

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, easy way to manage your charitable giving by recommending gifts to the International Institute of New England.

Contributions into your Donor Advised Fund are tax deductible. You can recommend how much (and how often) you want to distribute money from that fund to IINE or other charities.

One easy way to recommend a gift to the International Institute of New England is by using the DAF Direct form below. Simply state the name of your fund, list the International Institute of New England as the designated charity and state the amount you’d like to give. Then click “Next” to complete your recommendation.

You can also choose to have any remaining DAF funds distributed to the International Institute of New England after your lifetime by naming IINE as a beneficiary of all or a portion of the remaining funds.

By donating your shares, you help to welcome and support refugees and immigrants in New England.  The International Institute of New England accepts donations of commonly held, publicly traded stocks.

Two Easy Steps

2. Complete the Electronic Transfer Authorization Form (PDF) and provide it to your broker. This will provide your broker with all the information they need to complete a transfer on your behalf.

Please remind your broker to include your name, contact information and special instructions for the transfer. When stocks are transferred electronically, we are informed of the stock name and the number of shares, not the name of the donor, unless you authorize your broker to share this information with us. We need to understand the intent of your gift in order to provide an acknowledgment letter for tax reporting purposes.

Gift Valuation

Your generous gift to the International Institute of New England will be valued at the close price on the date of the gift.

In keeping with IRS regulation, IINE can only accept donations of commonly held, publicly traded stocks.

Gifts by Electronic Transfer

Please remind your broker(age) to include all of the information including your name, contact information and special instructions for the transfer. This information is essential for timely acknowledgment.

Certificate Transfer

If you hold stocks or securities in certificate form, please mail your unendorsed paper certificates to our Broker, noted below with a Stock Power Form. A signed stock certificate is legal tender.

Four Easy Steps:

  1. Click here to complete the attached Stock Gift Notification
  2. Print a Blank Stock Power Form for each certificate.
  3. Take the Blank Stock Power Form(s) to your bank to have your signature notarized.
    • Please do not sign the Stock Power Form(s) until you are in front of the bank staff who will guarantee your signature.
    • You will need one form of picture identification.
    • Signatures need to be signed as they appear on the certificate. Apart from your signature, please do not complete any additional information on the form.
  4. For security purposes, send the documents in two separate envelopes to IINE’s Broker as noted below: (via USPS Registered Mail with Return Receipt Requested)
    • Send the signature guaranteed Stock Power Form(s) in one envelope
    • Send the UNSIGNED stock certificate(s) in a second envelope to IINE’sbroker at:

One of the easiest ways to increase your gift to the International Institute of New England is through your employer’s matching gift program. Giving Circles

Comprised of individuals who desire to have substantial and sustained impact, IINE Giving Circle donors make generous, multi-year gifts that provide support for more than 2,500 refugees and immigrants annually.

With their generous multi-year gift, Giving Circle donors can:

  • With a $150,000 annual gift, resettle 100 refugee family by providing access to housing, support services, and case workers.
  • With a $100,000 annual gift, support 40 refugees during their first year in the U.S. by providing access to case workers, essential support services, and English language training.
  • With a $50,000 annual gift, provide case management and mental health services to 120 child and adult survivors of human trafficking.
  • With a $25,000 annual gift, reunite 40 separated and unaccompanied immigrant children with their families in the US by providing essential services and access to licensed, bilingual case workers.
  • With a $15,000 annual gift, enable 15 immigrants and refugees to improve their English and communication skills, through classes taught by experienced ESOL instructors.
  • With a $10,000 annual gift, help 15 adult refugees gain employment skills so they can secure employment in the hospitality, healthcare and construction fields in New England.
