Employment Support
Refugees and immigrants often face barriers to employment — particularly, limited English proficiency and the cultural knowledge necessary to enter and succeed in the American workforce.
Many of the individuals IINE serves have had unique experiences of persecution and flight, which disrupt skill development and work history.

How We Help
We serve individuals through an integrated Refugee Employment Services model that combines English language instruction, employment services and industry skills training, and support services coordination. Our employment team helps refugees and immigrants prepare for their entry into the workforce, providing support and guidance throughout the job application process, among other services. For interested individuals, our job skills team offers hands-on skills training such as nursing assistant programs.
English Language Instruction
Our job training classes take place online and through hybrid instruction, with new sessions starting throughout the year. Program graduates enter careers in the construction, healthcare, hospitality, and service industries, often then moving up to higher positions with greater responsibility and better pay. Sign up now and prepare for your new career.
Employment Services
Critical to IINE’s mission is to provide a pathway to durable self-sufficiency for refugees and new immigrants so they are able to build a foundation of support for themselves and their families. IINE helps immigrants and refugees enter the workforce and offers a range of skills training programs that prepare clients for better paying opportunities, careers, and advanced education.
Industry Skills Training
IINE offers intensive job training programs throughout the year. These courses are designed for those who have medium proficiency in English and a minimum of six months of work experience in the U.S.
Support Services
From diverse backgrounds and experiences, the majority of the refugees and new immigrants IINE serves share a lack of familiarity with American culture, institutions, habits, and values. Our Case Management program ties our continuum of care together to support individuals and families as they orient and adjust to life in New England.
Job-Ready Workforce Candidates
Our Impact
Each year, IINE trains and places more than 650 refugees and immigrants into the Massachusetts and New Hampshire workforce, with a focus on jobs that are above the minimum wage. In New Hampshire, for example, the average hourly rate of employed refugees and immigrants is more than double the state’s minimum wage.
