Maggie Burns

As Vice President of Principal and Major Gifts at the International Institute of New England, Maggie manages a portfolio of IINE’s highest potential donors and prospects and ensures donors are closely stewarded and presented with opportunities to deepen their relationships with and increase their support of IINE. Maggie works closely with the Senior Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer and the Chief Executive Officer to steward donors and prospects capable of making principal and higher-level gifts and to coordinate solicitation. Maggie also serves as a mentor, leader, and role model for a team of front-line fundraisers.
Prior to joining IINE, Maggie was the Vice President of Philanthropy and External Affairs at St. Francis House. Maggie provided strategy, leadership, and direction for all agency fundraising while overseeing marketing, communications, and external affairs. First joining St. Francis House in 2012, Maggie was a member of the St. Francis House executive team and played a key role in developing and implementing organizational strategy. Maggie successfully launched a $60,000,000 comprehensive campaign for St. Francis House to enhance and expand programming, build a social business enterprise, and renovate two main properties in the SFH campus.

Before joining St. Francis House, Maggie was Senior Director of Development at the United Way of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley, where she managed individual giving among several industries and launched the nationally acclaimed Women’s and Emerging Leaders affinity programs.

Throughout her career, Maggie has been instrumental in organizational and departmental strategic planning. Drawing from extensive leadership experience, Maggie understands the complexities of growing small to mid-size organizations. In addition to her work at St. Francis House, Maggie is a Founding member of The Roundtable – a group of Development and Advancement leaders – a mentor for the Institute of Non-Profit Practice, and a member of the Development Committee at Ursuline Academy in Dedham, MA.
