THE WILLOW FUND LUNCHEON
The International Institute of New England’s annual event for International Women’s Day is undergoing a meaningful transition. Instead of hosting a one-day celebration, we are directing efforts towards creating a more tangible impact through the creation of the WILLOW (The Women’s Initiative for Learning, Liberation, Opportunity and Wellbeing) Fund.
THE WILLOW FUND LUNCHEON
Women and girls make up 50% of the refugee population, yet they often have the greatest challenges resettling because their unique needs go overlooked and their potential unrealized.
Refugee women often watch their children and spouses acclimate during resettlement through school and work while they become isolated, lonely, and disempowered. Targeted programming is needed to help women and girls achieve wellness, safety, and employment.
Established in 2023, the goal of the new WILLOW Fund is to improve refugee women and girls’ resettlement experiences through greater investment in their health, safety, and workforce advancement.
Upcoming Event
The WILLOW Fund First Annual Luncheon
Our first WILLOW Fund Annual Luncheon will highlight refugee and immigrant women’s resilience and amplify their voices within the community. By combining both celebration and tangible support through the Fund, the International Institute of New England’s WILLOW Fund Annual Luncheon creates a holistic approach to advocating for and uplifting immigrant women.
